Box Condition 9/10
LEGO set 910033 is the Old Train Engine Shed, a massive and detailed fan-designed model released as part of the limited-edition BrickLink Designer Program Series 1.
This large-scale model is highly detailed and aimed at adult collectors and train enthusiasts (recommended age 18+). It contains 2,331 pieces and is designed to serve as the maintenance and repair hub for a LEGO train system.
🚂 The Engine Shed Structure
The main build is a large, rustic engine shed constructed using masonry bricks to give it an authentic, aged appearance. It features two large, hinged front and rear doors that allow locomotives to freely enter and exit the structure. Two large chimneys and a ventilation fan are included on the roof.
The shed is designed to accommodate a train engine up to 37 studs long, with space at the front for a wagon. At the front exterior, there is a water pump to supply the engines.
🛠️ Detailed Interior Workshop
The inside of the shed is a fully equipped workshop, packed with intricate brick-built machinery and tools, highlighting the heavy maintenance work that occurs there. These details include:
-
A large, classic old lathe.
-
A bench drill press and a vice.
-
An oxyacetylene welder and various hand tools like mallets and hammers.
-
A fully working overhead crane that runs just below the roof, which can be manually operated to lift and move heavy locomotive engines.
👥 Minifigures and Scene Setting
The set includes six Minifigures who populate the scene and bring the workshop to life: James and Julia (who arrive on a draisine), Robert (cutting wire), Frank (servicing the lathe), and Andrea (taking a coffee break).
The rear of the model includes a small, attached shack containing a small office and a stove for the workers. The scene is completed by Sam and his Alsatian dog, Oscar, who is tasked with guarding the gate.
The Old Train Engine Shed is a highly sought-after collectible due to its limited release and its detailed fit within the larger LEGO Trains theme.
